Great little conference!

I was honored to be asked to present at this writing conference. What a great little conference! My daughter and her friend attended the sessions as well. The authors who presented were so generous in sharing their industry experiences and stories.
Katherine Higgs-Coulthard has ingeniously crafted a unique platform for teen writers in Michiana with her Get Inked Teen Writing Conference. The conference, held at the picturesque St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana, offered an intimate setting that was a breeze to navigate. The teens had the privilege of experiencing college life by sitting in classrooms and dining on campus.
The conference took place in person on February 21st, with a virtual option available on March 2nd. On the in-person day, a surprise ice storm delayed authors and attendees. Yet, the supportive and responsive staff welcomed participants as they arrived with warm smiles and conference swag.
The conference featured a stellar lineup of YA authors, including Alicia Novo, Patrick Flores-Scott, Kristin Bartley-Lenz, Katherine Higgs-Coulthard, and Mary Ann Moore. As a pre-published SCBWI member, I set a goal to present at the conference to advance my writing career. To my delight, I was accepted to present my workshop, 'Transit Maps: Getting Around in Your Character's World,' to a group of talented and compassionate teens.
The conference turned out great for both my daughter and me. We will mark our calendars for next year's conference, whether or not I present. If you have a teen who is really into writing, send them to this gem of a conference.
